I just wanted to rave about a book I just read -- "The Way We Eat: Why Our Food Choices Matter" by Peter Singer and Jim Mason. This is the most complete book on food issues I've ever read. The book follows three families with 3 different eating styles: Standard American Diet, Conscientious Omnivores, and Vegans and traces back their food choices to the source. But that 's not all there is to the book. This book also covers:
- Fair Trade and Workers' Rights in the food industry
- Eating locally or not
- Slow food
- Dumpster Diving for food
- Organic food vs. conventional
- GMOs
